TAKE A SEAT opened in 1996 as a family-run furniture store built on practical service, fair prices, and pieces people could actually live with.

Over the years, the work grew into something a little more specific. We clean, repair, restore, and resell good furniture so it can keep doing its job in another home.

Some customers come in looking for a sofa. Some come in for a mattress. Some just start wandering and end up leaving with the piece they did not know they needed. That part has not changed much.

WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE IT HITS THE FLOOR

We do more than wipe it down.

Before a piece goes back out for sale, we inspect it, clean it up, fix what needs fixing, and make sure it is ready for another home.

Every piece comes in with its own story. Some only need a deep clean. Some need tightening, touch-ups, replacement hardware, or a little more attention before they are ready to head back into somebody's living room.

That work happens here. We inspect what we bought, clean what needs cleaning, repair what needs repairing, and skip the pieces that are not worth putting back out.

The goal is simple: if it goes on the floor, it should be something we would feel good about sending home with a customer.

Walk the floor. Sit on the sofa. Try the recliner. Open the drawers. See if the table is the right size. Furniture is a lot easier to understand when you are standing right in front of it.

If you are mattress shopping, try them. If you are comparing chairs, sit in more than one. And if you are not sure what you want, that is fine too. A lot of people come in just to look around and end up finding something they were not expecting.
