Review File: Accessibility  /  Status: Keep Improving A website should not require acrobatics.

Usability Department / File 03

The website should work without a scavenger hunt.

We want this website to be understandable, navigable, readable, and practical for as many people as reasonably possible.

The Goal / Useful For Actual Humans

Good accessibility is mostly good website behavior.

General Principle

Clear headings, understandable links, keyboard support, useful labels, readable contrast, sensible focus states, and predictable navigation benefit everybody.

Accessibility is not a one-time checkbox. Changes to content and functionality can introduce new issues.

01

Accessibility Approach

Build the boring fundamentals correctly.

This website template is designed with accessibility considerations such as semantic page structure, labeled navigation, visible focus states, responsive layouts, and readable content hierarchy.

Those decisions provide a starting point, but the final accessibility of a published website depends on how the template is customized and maintained.

Important Replacing content can change accessibility. Review the final website before launch.
02

Keyboard Navigation

The mouse should not be holding the website hostage.

Interactive controls should remain usable with a keyboard where appropriate.

Review Item Skip Link

A keyboard-accessible skip link provides a faster path to main content.

Review Item Focus States

Links and controls should visibly indicate keyboard focus.

Review Item Navigation

Primary navigation should remain operable without requiring pointer input.

Review Item Logical Order

Focus should generally move through the page in a sensible sequence.

Keyboard Review / No Mouse Required

Tab through it. The weird parts show up fast.

A quick keyboard pass can reveal missing focus states, skipped controls, and navigation that only works properly with a pointer.

Review Routine Start at the top. Keep pressing Tab. See where you land.

Usability Department / Office Rule

If you cannot find the focus indicator, neither can anybody else.

03

Structure & Navigation

Pages should make sense before they look fancy.

Semantic headings, landmarks, navigation labels, lists, buttons, forms, and other structural elements help browsers and assistive technology understand what a page contains.

04

Visual Design

Stylish is not useful if nobody can read it.

Text, controls, and important interface elements should maintain sufficient visual distinction from their backgrounds.

Buyers who change brand colors, text sizes, image overlays, or typography should review readability again after those changes.

Buyer Warning A beautiful new brand color can still create terrible contrast.
05

Forms & Inputs

People should know what the box is asking for.

Form fields should have understandable labels and instructions. Required information, errors, and validation messages should be communicated clearly.

Form Review / Before Somebody Gives Up

Labels should answer questions before users have to ask them.

Clear fields, useful instructions, readable controls, and understandable errors can turn a frustrating form into a fairly ordinary task.

Usability Check Make the next step obvious.

06

Motion & Animation

The page does not need to perform a dance routine.

Decorative motion should be restrained and should not interfere with reading or navigation.

Where motion is introduced, reduced-motion preferences should be considered when practical.

Motion Status Lightweight by design.
07

Known Limitations

No website earns a permanent gold star.

Accessibility can be affected by browser behavior, assistive technology, third-party tools, embedded content, plugins, integrations, and future website changes.

This template does not claim universal accessibility, formal certification, or guaranteed conformance with every accessibility standard or legal requirement.

Recommended Before Launch Test the customized website with real keyboard navigation, zoom, responsive layouts, and appropriate accessibility review tools.

Maintenance File / Things Change

Accessibility should survive the next update.
