New Client Intake: Open  /  Judgment Level: Unhelpfully Low Yes, you can tell us about the shoebox.

New Client Intake / File Starts Here

Tell us what happened.

Current books, overdue books, mystery transactions, reconciliation problems, or a general sense that the numbers are doing something behind your back — give us the short version.

Before You Reach Out / Important

You do not need to have everything figured out.

The first conversation is for understanding what the business does, what the books currently look like, and what kind of help might make sense.

If you already knew exactly what needed fixing, where every document was, and how to fix it, this page would be considerably less useful.

First Conversation / Start With The Situation

You bring the story. We ask better questions.

The first conversation is about understanding how the business works, what the books look like now, and what kind of help would actually be useful.

Intake Finding “It is kind of a mess” is enough information to begin.

Pre-Intake Review / Good Enough To Start

You do not need all the answers before asking for help.

Bring what you know, what you have, and the questions you cannot answer yet. Figuring out what is missing is part of the process.

Acceptable Status Some documents found. Several questions remain. Proceed anyway.

Before Sending / Common Intake Questions

Things people wonder before contacting a bookkeeper.

Do my books need to be current before I contact you?

No. Catch-up and cleanup work exists specifically because sometimes they are not.

Do I need to know what service I need?

No. Describe the situation and the current state of the books. The correct scope can be discussed from there.

Should I send financial documents through this form?

Not sensitive ones. Initial contact forms should not be used to transmit passwords, full account numbers, Social Security numbers, tax IDs, or similarly sensitive information.

What if I am very behind?

Say so. Knowing the approximate timeline helps determine what kind of review or cleanup may be required.

Is this tax or legal advice?

No. Bookkeeping work and general educational information are separate from individualized tax or legal advice.
