Rate Sheet: Located Surprise Fees: Not Invited
"How much is this going to cost?" is a perfectly reasonable question

Pricing / The Part Parents Were Looking For

Clear rates. No academic mystery math.

Tutoring pricing should be easier to understand than the homework that brought everybody here.

yes, we are showing the prices

Pricing Philosophy / Wildly Straightforward

Know what the session costs before the session starts.

No consultation maze. No mysterious "starting at" number followed by seventeen required upgrades.

Choose the kind of support the student needs, confirm the session length and format, and know the rate before booking.

The examples below are demonstration pricing for this website template and should be replaced with the tutoring business's real rates.

transparency: suspiciously convenient

Demo Rate Sheet / Replace Before Launch

Pick the kind of academic assistance currently required.

Example rates only. Actual businesses should replace every price below with their own verified pricing.

One-On-One Tutoring

Homework help, subject support, skill practice, organization, and whatever became confusing this week.

$60 / 60 min
Test Prep

Review planning, weak-area practice, pacing, retrieval practice, and actual preparation before test day.

$70 / 60 min
Online Tutoring

Live remote tutoring for students who would prefer not to add transportation to the evening's existing complications.

$55 / 60 min
Extended Session

Extra time for larger review sessions, major exams, several assignments, or an academic situation with multiple witnesses.

$85 / 90 min

Included / No DLC Required

The session rate includes the tutoring. Bold concept.

A tutoring session should not become a menu of tiny additional charges.

01

Session planning.

We identify what needs attention, what is due, and what the student should actually work on during the session.

02

Explanation and practice.

Concepts, examples, corrections, questions, guided practice, and the increasingly important moment when the student does one alone.

03

Materials already in use.

School assignments, study guides, notes, review packets, planners, and other materials the student already needs help using.

04

A next step.

The student leaves knowing what to work on next instead of returning home with the deeply actionable plan: "study more."

"Is there anything else I have to pay for?"

  • Confirm the session rate.
  • Confirm the session length.

Rate Variables / Because Details Exist

A few things may legitimately change pricing.

Session Length

More time costs more time-money.

Sixty and ninety-minute sessions should have clearly published rates if both are offered.

Travel

Driving across town is technically driving.

If in-home tutoring includes a travel fee or service radius, explain it before the session is booked.

Specialized Services

Some work requires different preparation.

Specialized exams, advanced subjects, group sessions, or custom services may use separate pricing when clearly disclosed.

Optional Packages / Only If The Business Actually Offers Them

Packages are fine. Fake urgency is not.

A tutoring business may choose to offer multi-session packages, prepaid blocks, sibling rates, or recurring appointments.

If it does, clearly state the number of sessions, total price, expiration rules, cancellation terms, and whether unused sessions are refundable.

"buy now before algebra returns" is not necessary

Policies / The Part Everybody Should Read

Payment and cancellation should not require forensic accounting.

Payment

State when payment is due, what methods are accepted, and whether payment is required before or after the session.

Cancellation

State the notice window, late-cancellation policy, and whether missed sessions can be rescheduled.

Late Arrival

Explain whether a late arrival shortens the scheduled session or changes the end time.

Refunds

Publish the actual refund policy instead of allowing families to discover it during a disagreement.

Demo Content / Replace These Numbers

The prices on this page are examples.

Before publishing this template, replace every demonstration rate with the tutoring business's real pricing.

Also update session lengths, payment methods, travel fees, package terms, cancellation rules, refund language, taxes if applicable, and any other pricing condition that actually applies to the business.

demo price is not a legally binding personality trait

Pricing Questions / Reasonable Things To Ask

Before anybody reaches for a calculator.

Do I need to commit to multiple sessions?

Not unless the tutoring business actually requires a package or recurring plan. Publish that clearly.

Is online tutoring cheaper?

It can be, but that depends on the business's real rate structure. Do not promise a difference that does not exist.

Are materials included?

State what the session includes and whether specialized books, assessments, or outside materials carry a separate charge.

What if we need more time?

Use the published extended-session rate or confirm any change before extending the appointment. Surprise tutoring overtime is still surprise overtime.

Next Step / Ask Before Booking

Know the rate. Know the plan. Then deal with the homework.

Tell us the grade level, subject, and kind of support needed.
