Standard project license
Customize the template into something new.
This license is designed for real creative work. You may
modify a template and use it in one finished website,
application interface, presentation, document, storefront,
or other end product described on the product page. The
original source package remains protected and may not be
offered as a competing template or reusable resource.

License summaryWhat the standard license is built to allow.
01
One finished project
Use the template for one end product, with
development, preview, staging, and backup copies for
that same project.
02
Personal or commercial
The finished project may support a personal brand,
business, nonprofit, or revenue-generating activity.
03
Client handoff allowed
Create one project for one client and transfer the
completed end product for that client's use.
04
Source remains protected
Do not resell, share, sublicense, publish, or turn
the template files into another reusable product.
This summary is provided for convenience. The complete
terms below control the scope of the license.
01
Agreement and scope
These Template License Terms form a binding agreement
between the person or organization acquiring a template
and Template Forge. By downloading, purchasing,
accessing, copying, modifying, or using a template, you
accept these terms.
These terms apply to free and premium templates unless a
product page, included license file, written custom
license, or third-party component license expressly
states different terms. A more specific written license
controls only for the product or component it identifies.
If you acquire a template for an employer, company,
organization, or client, you represent that you are
authorized to accept these terms for the relevant use.
02
Key definitions
Template: the downloadable product,
source code, design files, layouts, components,
documentation, sample content, and other files
supplied by Template Forge, excluding separately
licensed third-party materials.
Licensee or you: the individual or
organization that lawfully acquires the template.
End Product: one completed website,
web application interface, storefront, document,
presentation, design, or other finished project that
incorporates and materially customizes the template.
Client: one third party for whom the
licensee creates the End Product as a professional
service.
Source Files: editable, reusable, or
development materials from which the End Product is
built, including code, design files, components,
project files, and the original ZIP archive.
Project Copies: local development,
testing, preview, staging, deployment, and reasonable
backup copies used only for the same End Product.
03
Standard license grant
Subject to payment when applicable and continued
compliance with these terms, Template Forge grants
you a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable
except as expressly permitted for a client handoff,
non-sublicensable, revocable license to:
Download and keep reasonable backup copies of the template.
Inspect, edit, and modify the template for one End Product.
Use the End Product for personal, nonprofit, internal business, or commercial purposes.
Deploy and publicly display the End Product.
Use Project Copies necessary to build, test, maintain, and recover that same End Product.
Create the End Product for yourself, your organization, or one client.
The license is a permission to use the template under
defined conditions. It is not a sale or transfer of the
template's copyright, trademark rights, or underlying
intellectual property.
04
One license covers one End Product
Each template acquisition or purchase authorizes one End
Product. Development, local, testing, preview, staging,
production, and backup copies are permitted when they all
support that same End Product.
A separate license is required for each additional:
Unrelated website, application, store, brand, campaign, or finished product.
Client project, even when the same template is reused.
White-label deployment created for a different customer.
Independent regional, franchise, chapter, or business website that operates as a separate End Product.
Commercial theme, starter kit, site generator, template system, or reusable product derived from the template.
One End Product may include multiple pages, routes,
supported languages, and subdomains when they form one
integrated project for the same owner and purpose. A
single license does not cover a multi-tenant service that
generates separate customer websites or independent
branded instances.
Agency rule: one client project, one license.
Agencies and freelancers may reuse their own
workflow, but they must acquire a separate
template license for each client End Product.
05
Commercial use and client projects
The End Product may be used in a business, sold as a
professional service, monetized through advertising,
subscriptions, products, donations, memberships, or
other lawful activity, provided the template itself is
not the product being resold or redistributed.
You may create one End Product for one client and charge
the client for your design, development, setup,
customization, content, deployment, maintenance, or
related professional services.
After completion, you may transfer the deployed End
Product and the files reasonably necessary to operate
and maintain that specific End Product to the client.
The client may use those materials only for that End
Product and becomes bound by the applicable restrictions
in these terms.
The client may not extract, reuse, resell, redistribute,
or apply the template or its components to another
project. You remain responsible for explaining that the
handoff does not include ownership of the original
template or a reusable development license.
06
Modification and customization rights
You may modify the template as reasonably needed for the
licensed End Product, including changes to:
Text, images, logos, branding, colors, typography, and spacing.
Layouts, pages, sections, components, interactions, and responsive behavior.
File organization, documentation, sample content, and integrations.
Your original content and original modifications remain
yours to the extent they are independently protectable.
However, modifying the template does not transfer
ownership of the original template, remove these license
restrictions, or permit distribution of the template or
a substantially similar reusable version.
You are responsible for testing modifications, securing
custom code, maintaining backups, obtaining third-party
permissions, and ensuring the finished project complies
with applicable laws and platform requirements.
07
Employees, team members, and contractors
You may provide limited access to the Source Files to
employees or contractors who need the files solely to
create, test, deploy, or maintain the licensed End
Product.
Every person receiving access must:
Use the files only for the same licensed End Product.
Keep the files confidential and reasonably secure.
Not reuse the files for another employer, client, portfolio template, product, or project.
Not publish the files in a public repository or unrestricted shared drive.
Delete working copies when their role ends and continued access is unnecessary.
You are responsible for their compliance. Access by a
team or contractor does not increase the number of
licensed End Products.
08
Prohibited uses
Unless Template Forge gives express written
permission, you may not:
Sell, resell, redistribute, share, gift, rent, lease, sublicense, or publicly post the template or Source Files.
Upload the original or modified Source Files to a marketplace, stock library, template shop, code repository, download site, membership library, course resource folder, or file-sharing service.
Offer the template, its components, or a lightly modified version as a theme, starter kit, boilerplate, page builder block, UI kit, design system, or competing downloadable product.
Make the Source Files available to the public or to customers in a form that allows extraction or reuse outside the licensed End Product.
Use one license for multiple unrelated websites, clients, brands, or End Products.
Use the template in a multi-tenant website generator, hosted builder, print-on-demand system, automated design service, or similar service that produces separate customer End Products.
Remove or falsify copyright, license, attribution, trademark, or ownership notices included in the Source Files when those notices are required to remain in source or documentation.
Claim authorship or exclusive ownership of the original template.
Register the original template or a substantially similar reusable version as your own copyright, trademark, patent, design right, or marketplace product.
Use the template for unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, deceptive, defamatory, malicious, or abusive activity.
Circumvent download controls, license restrictions, security measures, or payment verification.
Public portfolio images, screenshots, videos, and links
showing the completed End Product are allowed, provided
they do not expose downloadable Source Files or falsely
represent authorship of the original template.
09
Free and premium template licenses
Unless a product page or included license states
otherwise, free and premium templates use the same
standard one-End-Product license described here.
A free price does not place the template in the public
domain and does not remove copyright or redistribution
restrictions. Free templates may be used in personal,
commercial, and client End Products under the same
project limits.
Premium payment grants access to the identified product
and its license; it does not buy exclusive rights,
copyright ownership, guaranteed exclusivity, unlimited
client use, or permission to distribute the Source
Files.
Product-specific extended, multi-project, agency,
enterprise, or exclusive licenses may be offered
separately in the future. Those additional rights apply
only when expressly purchased and documented.
10
Third-party assets and separate licenses
A template may reference or include third-party fonts,
icons, photographs, illustrations, libraries, plugins,
frameworks, APIs, code packages, videos, demo content,
or services.
Third-party materials remain governed by their own
licenses, terms, privacy policies, attribution
requirements, usage limits, and fees. These Template
License Terms do not expand rights granted by a third
party.
Preview images, logos, trademarks, names, and demo
content may be included only for demonstration and may
require replacement before public or commercial use.
The product page or documentation should be reviewed for
asset-specific instructions.
You are responsible for obtaining any additional
license, account, subscription, consent, or permission
required for the final End Product.
11
Ownership and intellectual property
Template Forge and its licensors retain all right,
title, and interest in the original template, Source
Files, documentation, branding, product presentation,
and related intellectual property, except for identified
third-party materials.
You own your original text, images, branding, data,
business materials, and independently created additions.
Your ownership does not extend to the original template
or preexisting components incorporated into your End
Product.
No implied rights are granted. All rights not expressly
granted by these terms are reserved.
Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions may be used to
improve the storefront and products without creating an
obligation to pay compensation, provided your
confidential information and original client content are
not intentionally published without permission.
12
Support, maintenance, and updates
A template license does not automatically include custom
installation, customization, hosting, migration,
integration, design, development, debugging, training,
or ongoing maintenance services.
Product pages may describe included documentation,
support, update access, compatibility, or service limits.
Those specific descriptions control for the applicable
product.
Future updates, new features, compatibility changes, and
continued availability are not guaranteed unless
expressly stated. Third-party platform changes may
require customer modifications or a future product
version.
Support may be refused for unsupported environments,
extensively modified code, third-party conflicts,
expired access, license violations, abusive conduct, or
requests outside the product's advertised scope.
13
License termination
This license terminates automatically when you materially
violate these terms and fail to correct the violation
after notice when a cure opportunity is appropriate.
The license may also terminate for:
A completed cash refund or payment reversal for the product.
A fraudulent purchase, abusive chargeback, or unauthorized access.
Resale, redistribution, public sharing, sublicensing, or marketplace publication of Source Files.
Use across more End Products or clients than licensed.
Unlawful use or intentional interference with the storefront's security or rights.
Upon termination, you must stop using the template and
delete the Source Files and unauthorized copies under
your control. If a refund, exchange, or payment reversal
ends the license, you must also stop using the affected
End Product to the extent it contains the refunded
template.
Provisions concerning ownership, restrictions, accrued
payment obligations, disclaimers, liability,
enforcement, and dispute-related records survive
termination where their nature requires survival.
14
Warranty and liability limitations
To the maximum extent permitted by law, templates are
licensed "as is" and "as available." Except for express
statements on the product page, Template Forge disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness
for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility,
uninterrupted operation, and error-free performance.
You are responsible for reviewing requirements, testing
the End Product, maintaining backups, securing
deployments, protecting credentials, obtaining
third-party permissions, and determining suitability for
your intended use.
To the maximum extent permitted by law,
Template Forge will not be liable for indirect,
incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or
punitive damages; lost profits, revenue, data, customers,
opportunities, or goodwill; business interruption; or
costs arising from third-party services, modifications,
deployment, security failures, or misuse.
Where liability cannot be excluded, total aggregate
liability related to a template will not exceed the
amount actually paid to Template Forge for that
template during the transaction giving rise to the
claim, except where applicable law requires a different
remedy.
15
General terms, changes, and contact
These Template License Terms should be read together
with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy,
product description, and any product-specific license
supplied with the files.
If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited
or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the
remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce
one provision does not waive future enforcement.
These terms may be updated for future acquisitions when
products, licensing options, laws, technologies, or
business practices change. The effective date identifies
the current published version. A material reduction of
rights will not ordinarily apply retroactively to a
completed acquisition unless required by law or accepted
by the licensee.
No oral statement or informal support response changes
this license. A custom exception must be expressly
documented in writing by Template Forge.
